1/2 teaspoon salt
1/4 cup unsalted butter, cold and diced
3 tablespoons ice water
2 large tomatoes, sliced
1 cup fresh mozzarella, sliced
1/4 cup fresh basil leaves

Instructions

1 In a bowl, mix flour and salt. Cut in butter until mixture resembles coarse crumbs.
2 Stir in ice water, a tablespoon at a time until dough forms a ball. Wrap in plastic and chill for 30 minutes.
3 Preheat the oven to 400°F (200°C). Roll out dough on a floured surface into a 12-inch circle.
4 Place the dough on a parchment-lined baking sheet. Layer with sliced tomatoes and mozzarella, leaving a 2-inch border.
5 Fold the edges of the dough over the filling. Sprinkle with salt and pepper.
6 Bake for 25-30 minutes until the crust is golden and the cheese is bubbly. Garnish with fresh basil before serving.
